The month of January marks the one year work anniversary of our Hygienist, Breanna! She has been a tremendous asset to our practice over the last year and has essentially transformed our practice in more ways than we can count. She has been described by a few of our patients as having "Angel hands." Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our office.
We have grown in leaps and bounds in only the last year in so many ways. We opened our doors in April of 2018 and are on our way to the two year mark of our dental office. We have welcomed Mercedes to our team as our EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant). As a certified EFDA, Mercedes carries out a wide variety of procedures in our office for our patients. So if you haven't met her yet, you are likely to meet her soon at a future appointment. Mercedes has over 20 years of experience in the dental field. She has been such a blessing to our team and patients.
Other things you may be aware of by this time in the year. Two of the major employers in the Lehigh Valley have changed their insurance carriers for dental this year. Check with your HR (Human Resources) department or employer to see if these changes may have affected your dental benefits or insurance carrier for the year. Lehigh Valley Health Network changed from Populytics to Delta Dental - this is quite a big change. OAA (Orthopedic Associates of Allentown), our neighbors in the 250 building of the Integrated Health Campus (IHC), changed from Guardian to United Concordia. If you have been quoted treatment plans in 2019 and had a change in insurance plans, this will change your estimated out of pocket cost (copay). So be sure to double check with us prior to your next visit. Best news of all, we are in network with all of those insurance carriers ( United Concordia, Guardian, and Delta Dental ). We strive to keep your dental care affordable and to help you best utilize your insurance benefits. Please feel free to reach out to our team to make the most of your insurance benefits!
The picture above is one of last cases we delivered for the year of 2019 and very symbolic of our practice. It is a Fixed Full Arch Bruxzir Implant Bridge. It is made of the strongest porcelain and supported and retained by dental implants that were placed by our oral surgeon who is double board certified in Dental Anesthesiology and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Jackson Nguyen. This was a joint effort between Dr. Nguyen and myself, start to finish and a great way to finish out our year. We are very happy and proud to offer this service to our patients all in the same practice and between just two providers, which is a rarity in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding Allentown area. Families are stronger together and that is just what we are and what we try to continue to exemplify in our practice and our services we provide our patients as a husband and wife team. We integrate our specialties for the benefit of our patients and hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
In closing, while reflecting on 2019, we have had our best year yet. A very heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our patients that trust us with their care. Thank you so much for your support this year. We hope to continue to take care of you and your family and friends for years to come. Stay nurtured!
