2019 in Review

Integrated Health Campus outside building snow on ground
What a year 2019 has been for our office.

We continue and always will strive to offer the latest and greatest to our patients.  Our office is very well equipped for a wide variety of needs as we are a husband and wife team, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and General, Cosmetic, & Family dentist.

One of the biggest changes:
We have implemented an Itero scanner in our office to take records of our patients.  The Itero scanner is an intra-oral scanner that takes thousands of pictures of the inside of the mouth within a few seconds without having to use goopy impressions (you are welcome).  We can use our Itero intra-oral scanner to show you simulations of how your teeth might look if trying to straighten your teeth or correct a traumatic bite with clear aligners.  The clear aligner companies we currently work with are:  Invisalign, Sure Smile, and Reveal.

Our Itero scanner also allows us to also track changes in your teeth at subsequent visits.  If you are clencher or grinder, you will definitely be able to see changes in your teeth if you are not wearing a nightguard or similar appliance to protect your teeth.  Clenching or grinding your teeth could also be an indication of a larger underlying problem.

When you clench or grind your teeth, you will frequently cause your teeth to be hypersensitive from the traumatic occlusion (or traumatic bite).  You can also cause portions or pieces of your teeth to break at the cusp tips or near the gumline, what we call abfractions.

Please call our office to schedule if any of these dental issues may be a current need for you to be addressed:  610-841-5929.  We would be happy to schedule a consultation to discuss any of your dental needs!

We are excited to enter the new year and are so happy for all of the support we have had from all of our patients, friends and family this year.  It takes a village.  We hope we continue to be your resource for dental education.  We always welcome requests for blog topics going forward.

From our family to yours have a very happy holiday season and Happy New Year!
